Okay so I’ve been wanting to create a fancast centering around this series for a long time because these books are everything to me and so are the characters. I hope you enjoy it and please remember that everyone has different opinions :) Stay tuned for more fancasts to come!
Clary Fray (Lily Collins)
Lily is and always will be my Clary. She’s fierce, strong, effortlessly beautiful, and she is an incredible actress. We saw how well she portrayed Clary in the movie and there’s no doubt in my mind that she would’ve handled the rest of the series just as well
Jace Herondale (Alex Pettyfer)
JUST. LOOK. AT. THIS. BOY. Alex is Jace. He is everything I associate with Jace. He has those gorgeous blonde curls. He has that “I’m better than you” arrogance about him. He’s able to play the serious character but also the funny, sarcastic character. If he would’ve accepted the role as Jace in the movie, I honestly believe that City of Ashes would’ve happened.
Simon Lewis (Nat Wolff)
Simon was probably the first fancast I figured out. As soon as I opened City of Bones, Nat’s face immediately popped into my head as Simon. Funny, sarcastic, nerd hot. Don’t @ me
Isabelle Lightwood (Phoebe Tonkin)
Isabelle was a tough one for me to figure out. Think about it, Izzy is basically a goddess. But after I watched Vampire Diaries, I realized that if anyone could bring Izzy to life on the screen it would be Phoebe. Gorgeous, badass, she’d slice your arm off w that whip and look flawless doing it.
Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario)
Matt has the look of Alec, there is no doubt about it. And with more practice, I’m sure he could get the acting down too.
Magnus Bane (Godfrey Gao)
Harry Shum Jr does a great job as everyone’s fave warlock but Godfrey has my heart. He is my Magnus, I don’t know what more to say.
I know we love to joke n tease n call it icky but like, I’d actually forgotten that Clace is actually, really, kinda cute? They’re the ‘bad boy who’s good but only for her’ trope and the ‘forbidden romance’ trope all wrapped up into one. And when Alec told Clary “He’d burn the whole world down till he could dig you out of the ashes.” Bitch??? And when the Angel Raziel brings Jace back from the dead and he just looks at her and says: “You could have had anything else in the world, and you asked to me.” And Clary replies with: “But I don’t want anything else in the world.” Holy SHIT I’m soft!!!! She could have had ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD and she asked for HIM!!!! And don’t get me fucking STARTED on Jace’s letter to Clary in City of Glass because the TENDERNESS is fucking unparalleled like!!!! “I belong to you. You could do anything you wanted with me and I would let you. You could ask anything of me and I’d break myself trying to make you happy.” AND “All night I’ve watched you sleeping, watched the moonlight come and go, casting its shadows across your face in black and white. I’ve never seen anything more beautiful.” AND FUCKIN “As long as I can still dream, I will dream of you.” AND IF THAT ISN’T THE MOST ROMANTIC SHIT YOU EVER HEARD IN YOUR LIFE THEN GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE!!!!!!!

Finished my exams yesterday and somehow managed to get the correct software on my dad’s laptop for my drawing tablet… Which means, this guy is finally back in the fanart business*wipes away tear of joy* god, I’ve missed it so much.
I’m so excited about the Shadowhunter series as well, so I did some fanart (of cassandraclare‘s book characters because I reread it recently), and because I love these girls! And I drew Clary with short hair, because when I was re-reading City of Bones it said she had hair half the length of Jocelyn’s, and I like bobs
So everyone has been talking about the comic at the end of COHF that has Tessa’s and Jem’s wedding but I was at Target today and happened to just pick up COHF and flip through it and I found this comic! I think this might be the comic featured for the U.S. but I’m not sure. Anyway, it has Jace, Clary, Magnus, Emma, and the Blackthorn kids. Sorry if it’s kinda blurry. I had to take these pics all stealthily haha but I felt the need to share it! Enjoy! :D
